Live Music in Southampton
From small and intimate to big and strong, Southampton has a music venue for all of them, where small and relatively unknown bands play, or cover bands in the world of famous bands, and then there are the world-famous bands themselves!
The creek is a place of entertainment ideal for capturing live music in Southampton. This relatively small place with capacity for 600 people and has a great atmosphere. It's like a pub upstairs with large and comfortable couches and tables and chairs where you can watch bands playing on stage under the balcony. Being very small the sound really fills this space, if you are listening to rock, blues, r'n'b, or any of the other genres they play here. There are often tribute bands in the line of Brook-up, including acts like Green Day-ish, Achtung Baby, Bon Jovi experience, and Hi-on Maiden, but also find some original big names here too, as Hawkwind, Magnum, and more.
The stream is a bit outside the city center of Southampton, but it's easy to find and easy to park in, located at 466 Portswood Road.
In more than double the capacity of the stream, Southampton Guildhall is 1749 people and has seen some very famous bands play on stage - the likes of Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Manic Street Preachers, The Kaiser Chiefs and others have played here. This is not just a live music place though, Southampton Guildhall features many other events throughout the year, including plays, classical concerts, children's shows, and CD and record fairs. Southampton Guildhall is located in the Civic Center in the heart of Southampton.
Besides these two there are many other places where you might catch a band, including carpenters, Turner Sims Concert Hall, Soul Cellar, The Hobbit pub, and Talking Heads.

If the arts are more your thing, Southampton is covered with numerous theaters, large and small. Southampton's most famous theater is the Mayflower where there are many different interpretations, including theaters, opera and ballet. You can enjoy programs such as The Sound of Music, High School Musical 2, and Chicago, or come to the Mayflower stand-up comedy one night at the opera, or a family or children's show.
The Mayflower is at the heart of Southampton and if you are driving here there are several various parking nearby.
Southampton Nightclubs and Entertainment Other
For nightclubs and bars Southampton is the place to go! There are many bars and clubs in Southampton if you want a night on the town. Some of the clubs that stand out from the Laughter and other minstrels bar attached. Bar Risa is a modern bar where you can enjoy all kinds of drinks, while Jongleurs is the biggest club in the comedy in the UK. Both are located on Main Street that are very convenient to reach.
