How important are layers of paint based on a road bike with spray paint?

I'm about to repaint my road bike with spray paint. Probably a lime green. How important are the base layers to the external appearance? I guess something in the extent to which a layer darker than the base lime green would look a little boring, but that's all speculation.

I was supposed to be properly prepared the framework for the painting, completely removing the old paint and applying the first sandable, and is not using lacquer and enamel or epoxy. If not, you need to do so before proceeding. As layers base, the main function is to have a uniform color to color the top layer is not stained, but there are some colors that benefit from a base of color in particular. When paint pictures always use a white base color opaque. If the type of clear finish (like apples sweet or metal flakes) I use white, gold or silver, depending on the tone desired end. I think a black man even used a framework for a long time. Of course, you need to remember to apply a sufficient amount of clear coat over the color for protect and maintain the tone finish. If only going to buy a $ 6 can of paint and have at it, I would reconsider its position. It takes time and effort, and a reasonable investment painting of a bicycle, even if you just use spray.
