- replace wood-based products, more ecologically sound alternatives, reducing the need for logging
Equally important to sustainable forestry in British Columbia are revisions Revitalization Act Forestry, especially in the annual allowable cut, and perhaps even tax laws that relate to external interests and ownership in the timber industry.
Renewal of a reverence for the Forest
BC environmentalist David Suzuki, noted that "Ecology and economy are the same root - "eco" and means "house". But what we have done is elevate the economy above ecology "(treehugger.com). The spiritual connotations that come with the notions of family and friends lost in the semantics market place as "stumpage and double-speak of terms as "revitalization of forestry. "For the deconstruction of language that can be assigned moral responsibility for the state of our forests in which they actually belongs.
