I hope this article is successful in changing the conversation in the Beatles 'classic album' Sgt Pepper of all things the "other" to the really important: the songs. What follows is a song by song on the album look amazing. # 1 "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is the first game of the album and possibly the heaviest song the band had done up to now (which would definitely be overcome with some songs in the White Album though, in particular, "Helter Skelter.") But as usual with the Beatles, not much more than just that song. But they are the heavy rhythm guitar and Jimi Hendrix inspired guitar solos, but we also horns and, of course, talk of crowd and the orchestra "tuning" what really sets the mood of the song and the entire album. # 2 "With a Little Help From My Friends" may be one of the few Beatles songs one version is better known as the original. Cover by Joe Cocker was actually recorded in the public consciousness as it was used in the opening credits of The Wonder Years. While Cocker's version is great (and totally different from The Beatles) still much prefer this. # 3 "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was one of the more openly "psychedelic" Beatles songs recorded. Everything about the song It's imaginative sound is eliminated trips to the extreme. # 4 "Getting Better" is where you really start to enjoy the album as an album. The first three songs from the album have become so well known to have difficult to appreciate in the same way I do the rest of the album's songs. # 5 "Fixing a Hole" contains some of the songs of more than Paul McCartney and some of his most imaginative. This is one of the best songs of the Beatles that is not known (as much as any Beatles song "is not as well known it is.) # 6 "She's Leaving Home" is a song people tend to hate or love. Except for me. I guess for me it is somewhere between those extremes. It amuses me, but I can see why people seem a little nasty too. The song actually was not organized by George Martin, because he was not available Leander Mike McCartney had to help him in his place. Another bit of trivia: The harp was played by a woman named Sheila Bromberg. She was the first woman to appear on any recording the Beatles. # 7 "being for the benefit of Mr. Kite!" is one of the most bizarre and surreal Beatles songs and I love that. # 8 "Within You Without You "is a song that has caused a fair share of arguments among fans of the Beatles in recent years. Many think that does not fit with the other songs, but I disagree. For me meditation is the center of the album. It is perfectly located right in the center. # 9 "When I'm 64" is another song that people seem to like to fight. Again, I love it. I understand. I know what would McCartney songs like this (see "Honey Pie" and " Your Mother Should Know ") and I totally dig it. It is important to realize the strength of the tongue is in cheek with these tunes. That is definitely not for say they are "joke" songs. Ween No. And not a "joke" band either. That's not at all. I guess it's one of those things you get, so it I do not understand. But if you're a Ween fan then I recommend you take a second listen to McCartney Beatles Stuff. I see it as a seed for a Ween approach. # 10 "Lovely Rita" is one of the songs are always really enjoy when I hear this record, I think that's partly because it is a song that is not included in any version other Beatles. # 11 "Good Morning Good Morning" is probably the song that had the hardest time enter and if I had to pick my least favorite is probably it. That said, I still like the song and like to hear what it says a lot about how great I think this album is, right? Also the sound of cock becoming the guitar sound at the end of the song is awesome. # 12 "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" really rocks harder than the opening theme. It is a more flexible and funky and I always love to hear it. It is because the rocks and also for the incredible song I know it is coming. # 13 "A Day in the Life" is the best song ever.
