Do you ever think about how far we have strayed from the path of our ancestors are pre-historical and eating patterns? Note how the first humans evolved, and what they ate. They were hunter-gatherers and not evolve with the characteristics of carnivores. Human beings are not made for separate animals and start eating meat. When you look at the carnivorous animals like wild cats, can see their teeth are designed to extract and tear, do not chew.
Humans evolved from vegetarian creatures. Even our digestive systems are not particularly suitable for meat consumption. Eating meat is a relatively recent development in human history, most likely born of opportunity and necessity. Perhaps the man observed before carnivores eat meat, and unless we find any natural foods that are used to eating, such as vegetables, fruits, nuts and grains, then you may have thought that eating meat at least sustain life.
But initially emulated the creatures that evolved from, herbivores like apes. Even for a prehistoric mind, apes would look like the man, mainly walking upright, arms and hands. We naturally have collected food, eating roots and berries, fruits and nuts. We would like to have seen the monkeys peel bananas, nuts or crush the stones to get to the meat of the nut.
We would have been living moment to moment, constantly foraging. Hunting, after all, requires thought and planning. Eating meat requires preparation and most importantly, fire. Even the man discovered the fire, which was primarily vegetarian, living in what was the natural order of things. Eating vegetarian is a more natural way of eating, besides being more healthy. It's a way that is in balance with the planet, and not try to dominate and conquer.
It must have felt unnatural at first, to eat animal flesh. After all, we're not so far from animals ourselves. Maybe even felt cannibalistic. I could not have been much more than intellectual distinction between people humans and other animals.
When humans were pure vegetarians, living in harmony with the earth and other creatures-habiting the planet with them. Their closest relatives, the apes, were vegetarians. The consumption of products of the earth, like plants, grains and fruits that can pick and eat would have seemed the natural order of things.
But necessity is the mother of invention. Prehistoric men who lived in frozen geographical areas, or living in an area that became devastated by fire, they have eaten anything to survive. Like soccer players whose plane crashed in the mountains of Chile, and were forced to eat the flesh of other players who died in the accident, the oldest man ever had to make the choice for survival, and could have meat consumption for the first time and changing human history - and health - forever.
We can imagine that early man ate meat which had been burnt or cooked by virtue of being trapped in a natural forest fire.
You may then have to eat raw meat, if necessary, but we can imagine that our first digestive systems rebelled against eating raw meat.
Imagine having eaten raw foods and vegetables for millions of years, and suddenly, meat products integrate into your system. You may have heard friends who were vegetarians tell stories of trying to eat meat and becoming violently ill afterwards.
Biologists will tell you that we are not really designed to eat meat, but we adapt to it. However, in the timeline of human history, consumption of meat is a relatively recent evolutionary development.
How could our family traditions focuses on eating meat? Think about it. When we think of Action Thanksgiving, think of Turkey. If we eat pork, then New Year celebrations often revolve around pork and sauerkraut. In the Christian Passover the traditional meal is ham. And in the summer, we expect that the first hamburger or steak on the grill.
How did this happen to a species that was designed to eat vegetables and fruits, nuts, fruits and vegetables?
We can imagine that meat consumption was initially an opportunistic act, born of the need to survive. The flavor of cooked meat, in addition to sustained energy that came from eating high fat meat products to the original meaning young man.
Initially, Search cooked meat of animals, a forest fire would have been cause for celebration. It is something that everyone in a clan who have participated in eating together. When man learned to hunt and moved to an orientation of the game, instead of a hunter-gatherer of guidance, he would have done in groups.
They have had to hunt in groups, and killing an animal for food would have been a group effort. The hunting and killing an animal means food not only for the individual, but to the clan, and would have been cause for celebration when the hunters brought home food.
If the animal brought back to the clan, he would as a group effort for the animal's skin and tear or cut the meat from the carcass. Everyone took part in this, and then shared in the benefits of their work.
It is easy to see how, once we had to hunt for meat, but could buy it, the need for meeting and celebration was deeply rooted in our nature. We celebrate the seasons and life events with family and friends, and because the principles involved celebrations eat meat, that tradition has continued to modern times.
