Grandmaster Flash?

I've been a aficianados of contemporary music for forty years and never have to Grandmaster Flash and he / she is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?? Who is Grandmaster Flash? Was I asleep for twenty years. If you're talking about rap music, stop. Rap music is a separate genre and has nothing to do with the Rock and Roll, which includes some melodic harmonies and instrumental talent. Go get your own salon of fame, and appreciated by people who appreciate what you do. Do not drop this pile of trash into something that is well established accopmplished with musicians and singers. Rap is talkng. When rap with somebody, you're talking to them, not to sing along. This is opera, opera and music is not in the Rock and Roll either.

I'm also a music aficianados long. I look at the list of inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and I see the names that are not rock artists. I see Miles Davis, that's all jazz, but had a deep and immediate influence of some of rock's greatest era, and that the influence a jazz and rock style of his time. I see Chet Atkins, known for his guitar Pickin country but also his studio work with some of the greatest rock and roll. However, Grandmaster Flash was a different way -- which created a new style of music that there was nothing like a rock. It was more like poetry with a disco-funk beat. Rap is the rock and bluegrass is Beethoven. Most of the rappers today do not even make music - the "sample" of the sounds of others. Rarely or never "sing", that rap, like beatnik poets of the '60s. They were not considered Rock and Rollers well. If there is a Hall of Fame Rap, by all means, make it the first armature, but has no place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
