I also had my concerns so did a lot of reading on the subject. My conclusion is that it is better use of inert materials such as Pyrex or Corning-ware. If you must use the "type of plastic," the materials use only those labeled as safe for the microwave. I use the Tupperware Rock 'serves the other poster mentioned, since they are made for microwave use. Never use disposable Ziploc or Glad type containers. I do not know if they are microwave, but since they are so mild that they are not used. What I wonder now about of all silicone products, which have flooded the market. I have to do more reading!
