What type of battery should I do if I want to jazz / swing, funk and samba stlye?

I think to sell my 5-piece First Act battery because I do not like the sound of it. I'm really into jazz, funk, etc. I also like Tommy Igoe. So what type of battery that's less than I $ 400 and what would be stored near Houston, TX? Please give me all the details. Thank you!
