Marching drum opinion please?

Hey guys:) My music director approached me today and asked me if I wanted to try the bass 3 for him today. I wanted to be in Drumline for the past 2 years but I had no experience necessary and I am originally a clarinetist. So I went with him today to practice our night and 6.9 did not really horrible:) But my pain I was pending. Our camp band is approximately August 10 2 1 / 2 weeks from 8 days til 430 and I think I need to strengthen slightly before.
