Anybody know any good bands Salsa Latin Jazz?, Plus Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez and Mongo Santamaria?
In the field of Latin jazz: Ray Barretto, definitely. His most recent recordings with Blue Note jazz and Zoho is also well worth a look. Bobby Sanabria. I have loved all of her so far, especially his album great band called Big Band Urban Folk Tales. Batacumbele. A gang of Puerto Rico that took the Cuban Songo as a starting point. Many players terrific, a great sound. Wasburne Chris. Latin jazz to venture into the sauce a little, powerful sound. Nachito Herrera Bobby Matos John Santos Snowboy (again, often goes to the salsa, the Palmieri / Fania / style Mongo), Conrad Herwig. He has recorded many albums of songs from famous jazz musicians, all in a jazz style latino. I especially liked "Another Kind of Blue" (Latin Miles Davis) in the field of Salsa: Salsa Celtica (as the name suggests, makes the Celtic music and do in the sauce. Free crazy, but excellent!) Manny Oquendo (also known as Conjunto Libre) Spanish Harlem Orchestra (one of the best-sounding groups around) Chino Nuñez Wayne Gorbea Salsa Picante de Los Van Van and Roberto Linares Brown Bio Ritmo Mamborama Edwin Bonilla
