How do I tell my daughter about 6 years old Santa Claus?

My wife and my daughter has said that parents who make gifts so Forget Santa Claus. I want the right to rest the phrase that my daughter does not start to disbelieve everything. She is a first grader very smart. Note I note that it is my wife, who said there was no Santa Claus. I'm trying to salvage something here, so cut-trial responses. It's too late for that.

Why on earth would he do that? He would try to make out like "Mommy was pretending * * no Santa" or something like that. Children believe what they want. I bet you could do something special for her. Shame on his wife.
