Bengali music has found its voice through music group that has recently proliferated throughout the country and one of the pioneers of this music is "Bhoomi" (literally means "earth" or "earth"), the legendary group of Calcutta. Bhoomi range uses a variety of acoustic instruments, including the thumb, bongos, equip, djembe, drums, violin, flute, Khanji, mandolin, banjo, matka spring Khamak, Handi, guitar, castanets, tambourine, Ghanta snail Kansha, Ress, blues harp, pan flute, drum, steel drum, melodica, blues harp, harmonium, piano, moorcing, Ektar, recorders, chart, balalaika, dugdugi, dubki, edakkaii, bells, bells, dholak, Khol, etc. Members Group Madol are many talented musicians who can not only sing, compose, write the lyrics, but can also play a variety of instruments. Soumitra (Ray) and Surojit (Chatterjee) are the singers in the band but also play a variety of instruments in the rhythm Soumitra (drums) and normally Surojit mandolin, flute and guitar. Baranday addition Roddur to his nine albums and numerous shows, Bhoomi is also a program in ETV Bangla Channel entitled "Baranday Roddur. This is a music and dance mixed with some chat with some famous Bengali. The program invites young dancers (4 to 10 years) from different parts of the state and what wonderful show obtained. And, of course, its performance is Bhoomi, the sometimes with a guest artist to sing. Worldwide Bhoomi Bhoomi I first met at a live concert in New Jersey two years ago. It was a very pleasant evening. Bhoomi really knows how to connect with their audience, whether in a rural village in West Bengal or the United Nations in New York. Bangla band were the first to make the United Nations and also the first to occur at the Festival de Jazz de Montréal. Made regularly in the North American Bengali Conference (NABC) and Bangamela in the Midwest. Evolution of Bengali music? Bhoomi is now a name known to all Bengali homes. It redefines the presentation of Bengali folk music in many ways and many bands follow their path.

The only complaint I have is that often when I hear an accent mixing rural Bhoomi Singer-sophisticated urban Bengali accent in their music, I feel uncomfortable. Not everything not seem right to me. Not in the league of traditional folk music I'm used to. But as someone pointed out to me, perhaps the way in Bengali is spoken in these days in rural Bengal is changing and I am not aware of this development at all.
