The String Quartets of Béla Bartók, these 2 games you want to opt for?
The Hungarian Quartet on Deutsche Grammophon recorded at the beginning 1960? or cycle later by the Takács Quartet in the Decca label? The opinions are welcome. Thanks Mephistopheles Damn! What happened was: first Hungarian Qt purchased from Amazon, then immediately regretted my choice as I was originally for the Takács and finally raised this issue in the hope against hope that everyone choose the former.
Easy - every time the Takács Quartet. These recordings are almost legendary and I think most collectors would say that the results are incomparable. Although the recordings are very old, the rules were so high that Decca recordings, including 20 years of age or older sound better than many "modern". Go to Takács - you will not be disappointed.
