How to live in New York affect your daily life?

New York is a hectic place. The people of New York, work long hours, live close to many different types of people, and often do not live close to nature, or in silence, quiet places. I would like to hear people in New York and New York about their experiences in New York. Do you think people in New York tend to be less emotionally healthy or well adjusted? Does living in New York affect people of negatively, or is it just a culture like any other culture that people can adjust or like?

I agree with the answer coming from a different background, is difficult to cope. I am originally from California and just moved here 2 weeks ago. When I moved here is crazy. They drive crazy, and always walk fast on a mission, the food is expensive and the little things you need (and hangers) are a mission to find, hear noises all night, and almost everywhere on foot has to go. But it is a beautiful city. So much to do, you'd rather be anywhere then at home watching television. And its fascinating because Everyplace offers and is almost always seeing new places and things you never knew existed. I'm still used, but generally love and hope to stay here. You have to adapt to the lifestyle, but once it worthwhile. Guess that's why people work long hours and love the city so much because I think we live people * may * be a little lack of sleep (or maybe it just moved me from lol IVE) but if something that looks more healthy because of all the activity that they do on a daily basis. I think this city is not for everyone. If you do not love people (or at least the insanity) or life of the city, we may never adjust and dislikes. However, its crazy, it's as if every day is a new adventure.
