When you look at a scope, why do you want from 1 inch over 100 yards?

I was watching a video in which he said you want the bullet to hit 1 inch above the target of 100 meters ... Why is this?

Because high-powered rifle higher. If it is of an inch at 100 yards will be entitled to 200 yds. At 3 one hundred meters depend on the caliber and bullet weight. Fall only a few inches. Hope this helps.
